It's not just me, right?

business entrepreneurship Aug 01, 2018

Today is one of those days.

One of those where you doubt everything you do and everything you want to do.

Nothing terrible happened this morning. There was nothing out the ordinary.

And yet, doubt has crept into every cell of my body.

My brain has collapsed into mush that can't sustain a simple thought.

I'm unsettled. Restless.

Unable to focus on anything, consistently.

I've even tried the get outside for some fresh air.

And water.

They're normally both a fail-safe for calming the mind and conjuring creativity.

Not today.

But I don't need to tell you that because you already know.

You've been there.

Any business owner who's prepared themselves to take that next leap has been there.

To reach the next level you have to do things you've not done before and that creates fear.

You're stretching yourself, moving out of your comfort zone. Onwards and upwards.

And at some point, it catches up with you. The mind monkeys start playing up and doubting that you can do this (you can, by the way).

But that's when the doubts start creeping in.

Your ego likes to be right and it gets busy finding reasons to support those doubts. Suddenly, you think you're making a huge mistake.

Why would anyone want to buy this?

I've got my ideal client all wrong.

I'm not even excited about doing this anymore.

This is totally wrong for my crowd.

I've got the price wrong.

What else might they want?

Oh heck, I've no idea.

I know nothing.

I'm not good enough.

I may as well give up.

And so on. And so on.

This has been me today.

If you're growing and stretching to reach that next step, you'll end up here at some point (if you haven't already).

The trouble is that being an entrepreneur can be a really lonely place.

Often, there's no team to talk to and bounce ideas off and there's no way you can go online and ask for help because that would show a weakness.

You could lose customers. They'll know that you haven't got it all sorted. They might even think you're a complete fake...the horror.

Today, I realised that I didn't have somewhere to go.

If only we had a safe space to open up and support each other. Somewhere to share our ideas, to get support and a swift kick up the bum when needed.

Yes, there are thousands of Facebook groups offering you support as a beginner but I couldn't find anywhere that supported those who were further along their journey and ambitious to achieve more. Well, not any that weren't full of empty, unhelpful posts.

I wanted somewhere that ideas could be shared, where collaborations could happen.

A place where you could socialise with those experiencing the same feelings and challenges, where you could truly get help and support.

So whilst I'm full of fear that everything I'm doing is wrong...literally everything...I decided why not set up a group that would offer all of this...even though it could mean falling flat on my face.

Because, if I need it, surely others do too, right?

If you too have built a business and are looking to continue your growth, to stretch to the next milestone, and would like to join a community of like-minded business owners, then come and check out my brand new group, 'Ambitious Entrepreneurs Community'.

It's not for everyone - there are tons of other groups that accept all business owners. This is more exclusive to support those who are ambitious and driven, who've got a great business they want to build further and need others who understand their challenges.

A bit like a mastermind but more informal.

If this is you, come on over and say hello. I'm sure I'm not alone...
